Mind Unfiltered: The story and purpose behind the podcast

Speak: Piece 5

As a 16-year-old girl with a passion for psychology, navigating through the ups and downs of adolescence, I often found myself looking up to celebrities, thinking that they had everything figured out and wishing I could ask them for advice. Up until I went to Madison Beer’s concert, where she spoke to me and gave me some advice for something I was struggling with. Her words truly spoke to me, and I wished that every teenager who felt lost could hear what she had to say. This is why I thought of creating “Mind Unfiltered,” a podcast in which I chat with both Greek and English-speaking celebrities to help teenagers manage their struggles and overcome their mental health problems, as well as with successful people in their sector who offer insight on the psychological impacts of their career choice.

This podcast has truly felt like a sense of escape now that I have so much revision and stress from school, reminding me that everyone is human and that even celebrities are fighting their own silent battles. My goal is to show teenagers that they aren’t alone in this and to spread awareness while reducing stigma around mental health.
